Through inducing rapidly repeated skeletal muscle contractions, vibration activates and exercises our muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Muscle contractions also create a skeletal muscle pump effect, facilitating the distribution and relay of blood and lymph.
In other words, vibration intervention influences our three body systems: 1) musculoskeletal system, 2) neuromuscular system, and 3) peripheral circulation system.
The health improvement applications discussed below are categorized according to the disorders affecting these body systems
Vibration therapy is about using vibration to induce rapidly repeated skeletal muscle contraction. The mechanical stimulation produced by muscle contraction is the needed treatment intervention. ...more
